Potency

Warm, wet, crowded forests push plants to make a wide range of natural compounds of their own, which is why herbalists have paid close attention to Amazonian plants for generations.

Our suppliers harvest each plant part in the season it is at its best: the leaf, the bark, the root or the fruit. It is gathered fresh when the plant is ready, dried, and sent direct to the USA.

Leaf, bark, root or fruit: each one gathered in its season.

Integrity

Every label names the plant and its Latin name, the part used, where it comes from and the amount in each capsule. Only the plant part goes into a vegan capsule (hypromellose, a plant cellulose): no fillers, binders or flow agents.

Every batch is encapsulated in the USA and tested for heavy metals, mould, yeast and pathogens before release. Our herbs are never irradiated or fumigated. How a Raintree capsule is made

Authenticity

Cat's claw vine from the lowland forest, camu camu from riverbanks that flood each year, maca from the high Andean plateau at around 4,000 metres. These are the plants the peoples of the Amazon and the Andes have brewed, boiled and eaten for generations.

Some of these herbs are sourced only for Raintree. Each one has its own guide in our herb library: its names, its history, how it has been prepared and which of our products contain it.

Brewed, boiled and shared for generations.

Harmony

A forest harvested for its leaves, barks and fruits earns an income every year. A forest cleared for cattle earns once. Buying from people who live in and look after the forest gives them a reason to keep it standing.

Most of our herbs are gathered from living wild plants; a few, such as maca and bitter melon, are grown. Our supplier also replants forest, and Raintree donates to charities linked to the rainforest.

A living forest pays every year.
